Jared holds an Associate Degree in Equipment Sales and Service from Madison Area Technical College (MATC) and has spent his entire life immersed in the world of machinery. From an early age, he was taking equipment apart just to understand how it worked—then putting it back together better than before. What began as a childhood fascination quickly turned into a lifelong passion and career.

Often described as a “jack of all trades,” Jared is not afraid to get his hands dirty and leads by example. His mechanical know-how, paired with his straightforward, honest approach, makes him a trusted resource for customers. He only sells and rents equipment he believes in, and if it doesn’t meet his standards, it doesn’t make the cut.

Pam is the Co-Owner and Partner of the business, bringing over 21 years of experience as a teacher and multiple degrees to her role. She joined Jared at Capital City Equipment in 2022, and together they acquired Schultz Small Engine in 2024.

Pam manages the books, billing, rentals, customer service, and marketing, while also overseeing employee relations and team development. She’s the planner, organizer, and people-person who keeps everything running smoothly.

With a passion for building strong relationships and a talent for leadership, Pam plays a vital role in the success and growth of both businesses.

Jaxon has been an integral part of our team from the very beginning. Energetic, dependable, and always ready to jump in where needed, Jaxon brings a can-do attitude and strong work ethic to every part of the business.

He plays a key role in parts and sales, assisting customers with expert guidance and support. Jaxon is known for his exceptional research skills, helping customers track down even the most hard-to-find parts with ease. In addition to customer service, he oversees inventory management and ordering, ensuring our shop is always well-stocked and organized.

With a friendly demeanor and a problem-solving mindset, Jaxon is a go-to resource for both customers and team members alike.

Butz is a skilled and certified service technician, specializing in push mowers, lawn tractors, and zero-turn mowers. With a strong mechanical background and attention to detail, Butz delivers quality workmanship and reliable results.

Known for his motivation, he works quickly without compromising on precision—ensuring timely service and satisfied customers. Butz is also a valued team player, always willing to lend a hand and offer support to both customers and colleagues.

His friendly attitude, technical expertise, and commitment to getting the job done right make him an essential part of our service team.

Chris is the face behind our lawn mower pickup and delivery service. He plans routes, coordinates schedules, and ensures clear, timely communication with customers—always honoring their preferences and special requests. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, Chris takes pride in making each interaction smooth and stress-free. His attention to detail and commitment to service make him a valued part of our team and a trusted point of contact for our customers.

At the heart of our service department is Jake, our Service Manager and Certified Technician, whose expertise and dedication set the standard for excellence in equipment care.

Jake brings over 14 years of experience in the small engine industry, backed by an Associate Degree in Small Engines from Madison Area Technical College (MATC). His extensive technical training, combined with a lifelong passion for mechanics, makes him one of the most trusted and capable technicians in the field today.

Jake’s journey with us began years ago when he worked for the original Schultz Small Engine for six years. After gaining additional experience elsewhere, we were fortunate to welcome him back—bringing with him a depth of knowledge and a reputation for precision, honesty, and excellence.

A true master of his craft, there’s virtually nothing Jake can’t fix. From pushmowers to complex zero-turn mowers, Jake approaches every repair with skill, care, and attention to detail. His friendly demeanor, strong work ethic, and commitment to quality service make him a favorite among customers and colleagues alike.

We’re proud to have Steve as part of our service team. Steve joined us in May 2024, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a passion for quality workmanship. With 8 years of experience working on small engines and another 8 years servicing heavy equipment, Steve is a true expert in his field. Prior to his work as a technician, Steve spent 16 years driving a semi-truck and has spent a lifetime repairing, maintaining, and tinkering with all things mechanical.
